Therapy
My hope as therapist is to offer you space and support as you process your grief and the ways it has changed you. This practice is rooted in a broad definition of grief that includes the loss of a loved one, an unexpectedly difficult pregnancy journey, receiving a difficult diagnosis, migrating, changing aspects of self-identity or other experiences that involve the loss of a constant in our life. This work often includes exploring what we may experience alongside our grief including anxiety, depression, trauma, and interpersonal conflict, as well as how our grief may be informed by our cultural and personal identity factors.

Together, we will collaborate to get you to a space where you feel capable and secure in exploring who you are now as a result of your loss, with a greater understanding of how your past and systemic factors can shape current coping and your sense of self today.

Approach
My approach to therapy is integrative, using different approaches depending on our needs in the therapy space. Some of the approaches I bring in are:

  • Psychodynamic: examining past relationships and dynamics to further understand how our past might manifest today in what you are experiencing.

  • Internal Family Systems: understanding different parts of ourselves and how they might relate.

  • Relational: the role relationships play on our lives, including reflecting on the client-therapist relationship.
About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and received my undergraduate degrees in both Social Work and International studies prior to completing my master’s in social work with a focus on migration, from Loyola University Chicago. Professionally, I had the opportunity to work in various settings including higher education, community mental health, perinatal care and human rights organizations. This range of experiences gave me a strong foundation in both clinical and policy spheres, which I integrated in the development of my therapy approach.

My interest in culture and language stems from my own immigration journey from France to Chicago as a child. As therapist, I am passionate in understanding how our own individual and family histories shape our internal world, and how this world reacts and responds to grief.

Some of my other interests include baking, walking, puzzles, and competition.
Insurance
I am in network with BCBS PPO plans. If you have a different insurance provider, I would be considered an out of network provider and some of the cost could be covered through your out of network benefits. Regardless of your insurance provider, I recommend that you contact your insurance to verify what coverage will look like. For those paying out of pocket, my standard fee is $150 per session.

What if that is joy?
